aac2017 winner Lilia Omoloeva

Artist: Lilia Omoloeva

Artist Introduction:

Lilia Omoloeva originally from Russia. For long time she lived and worked in China. Currently base in Singapore.

Medium you work in? any special techniques?

Mainly oil and acrylic. She likes to do research on how colours work together. So she look for different colour combinations which can create the mood in the painting. In many of her works she let her colours shine without using any additional mediums.

What you hope to accomplish with your art?

I work with different topics. Very often it is daily life or landscapes that we see every day. In my paintings I prefer using old method to paint without photographs references because I believe that an eye of an artist can capture more than a digital camera. When you work with the photographs image is static and lacks of a soul. Objects in real life in opposite provides depth and volume.
