Siaw Tao Chinese Seal-Carviing, Calligraphy and Painting Society’s 47th Anniversary Member’s Art Exhibition

Siaw-Tao Chinese Seal-Carving, Calligraphy and Painting Society is having its 47th annual members’ exhibition from 26th to 29th October 2017 at Ngee Ann Cultural Centre, located at the Teochew Building on 97 Tank Road.

This year, our exhibition is showcasing more than 300 pcs of our members’ recent artworks, including Seal Carving, Meticulous, Impressionistic Ink Painting & Calligraphy.

The exhibition features artwork from Siaw-Tao’s artists: – Tan Kee Sek, Lee Hock Moh, Koh Mun Hong, Nai Swee Leng, Tay Bak Chiang, Oh Chai Hoo, Tan Chin Boon, Chong Choy and many more.

In addition to Siaw-Tao’s very own artists, we are pleased to have Mr Soh Chee Hwee exhibiting with us in this year’s exhibition. Mr Soh specializes in painting glazed Oriental/Peranakan ceramics & crockery using acrylic as medium on rice paper, merging the essence of oriental art with a western touch. He graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in 1990 and won the coveted United Overseas Bank ‘Painting of the Year’ Award in 1992. His works has since been widely exhibited in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan & USA.

Following the success of Siaw-Tao’s first illustrated papers in 2016 that were published and distributed to visitors at the exhibition, we are again giving away the 2nd edition of 2017 publications to our guests during the exhibition period below (on a first come first serve basis, while stock lasts):-

26th October (Thu) 1pm – 9pm
27th & 28th October (Fri & Sat) 11am – 7pm
29th October (Sun) 11am – 6pm

Workshop & Activities: –
1) Seal Carving Workshop
28th October (Saturday) 2:30pm – 5:30pm (registeration required, please refer to our event update on SiawTao’s facebook page via search “@Siawtao” for details on 23 Oct”

2) Artist Sharing by Soh Chee Hwee
29th October (Sunday) 2:30pm – 4:30pm (Walk-in only)

Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the Public.
