The Visual Arts Centre is a 5,500 square feet glass-house exhibition gallery and studio housed in the beautiful, lush green habitat of the Dhoby Ghaut Green. In the midst of a bustling city, Visual Arts Centre within the Dhoby Ghaut Green is a peaceful oasis – bringing one a unique experience of visual art in a tranquil environment. Located in the heart of the arts and heritage precinct of Dhoby Ghaut and in a prime city central location, highly accessible via all modes of transport, the Visual Arts Centre Exhibition Gallery is a dedicated art space for international and local exhibitions of art and design. The exhibition gallery presents a spacious, open and comfortable space, fully equipped with facilities to support various exhibitions, events, workshops and presentations. The exhibition gallery is a venue suitable for hosting solo and group shows of local and international artists, avant garde presentations, art auctions, book launches and art workshops/seminars.

FULLY EQUIPPED EXHIBITION GALLERY


The Exhibition Gallery is a spacious rectangular space of 23 metres long and 7 metres wide. All panels are built-in, with a stable and secure adjustable hanging system. Some panels are movable panels for alternative exhibition set-up and arrangement.

Situated beside the lush green lawn of the Dhoby Ghaut Green and the openair amphitheatre, exhibitors hiring the Visual Arts Centre Exhibition Gallery can look forward to planning a unique event with outdoor alfresco exhibition opening reception/performances at the lawn area/amphitheatre, all at minimal costs.

Built by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, the Visual Arts Centre is located in the heart of the Dhoby Ghaut Arts & Heritage precinct, a main tourist destination for experiencing the arts and cultural atmosphere of Singapore. Minutes away from several major Singaporean art institutions, museums and schools, the Visual Arts Centre occupies a strategic location in a highly porous glass-house building situated along a main road leading to the Somerset/Orchard shopping districts, where the retail and cultural life of Singapore converges.

FULL DAY OPENING HOURS FROM 11AM – 8PM

Both the exhibition gallery and the studio opens from 11am-8pm daily, excluding public holidays.

In close proximity to nearby shopping and entertainment centres — the Plaza Singapura Shopping Complex and The Cathay, and directly accessible by public transportation, the Visual Arts Centre has a high walk-in visitor traffic. Art lovers and patrons attending professional art training courses at the studio are regular visitors to the exhibition gallery. In addition, exhibitions and programmes will be broadcasted on the Visual Arts Centre official website and sent to Visual Arts Centre’s database of art lovers, collectors and high profile art patrons.

How to get there:

  • By Car: Park at Singapore Shopping Centre/Plaza Singapura/The Cathay/ Fortcanning Outdoor Carpark. Take a short 2 min walk over to Visual Arts Centre.
  • By Bus: Take buses 7, 14, 16, 36, 65, 111, 124, 128, 162, 174, 175; and stop at Penang Road / Dhoby Ghaut Station, walk over.
  • By Train: Walk from Exit B of Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station (Turn left and take another left, approximately 20 metres walking distance)
